This weekend, I spent Friday evening with my host family in a nearby town called Munster. While we were there, we went to a couple of different stores in search for a ski jacket for my host sister, Fiona. They will be going skiing for the winter holidays (break.) Then we walked around and looked at the different Christmas markets that they have before Christmas. I have to say that being in Germany right before Christmas in amazing! There are beautiful Christmas markets almost every town. I do not know what I will do next year when I will not be able to go to one. Then we ate at a little restaurant before heading home for the evening. Munster is a beautiful city and one of my favorites that I have been to while in Germany!
Then on Saturday, Kelsey, Morgan, and I set off for the nearby town named Koln (Cologne.) Kelsey told us that we were going to meet at the train station at 9:45 since our train left at 10:05. Well, Morgan and I were there on time and waiting for Kelsey to arrive. We were starting to get a bit worried that she would miss the train and I was very panicked and worried! But she finally arrived five minutes before the train arrived. We arrived to Cologne and met Jennifer and Kathryn at the train station! Then later on, we found that Jessica was also there. While we were visiting Cologne, we saw this most amazing building that I have ever seen in my entire life. It was jaw dropping beautiful! Then we went to the Lindt Chocolate Museum where we learned how they make their chocolate. We also got to taste some of their chocolate from the fountain. Then we walked along the Rhine River and just looked around until we found the famous lock bridge. It was so sweet and I wish that I had a lock to put on the bride for Josh and I, but I didn't. Oh well, maybe we can put one on it next time we are in Germany! Here are some pictures from our time in Cologne.
